Our Team

Dr. Soyeon Kim, PhD
Co-Principal Investigator

I am a Research Scientist at the Waypoint Research Institute, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. I received a PhD in Development Psychology and Education at the University of Toronto and trained in clinical epidemiology as a postdoctoral fellow at the Offord Centre for Child Studies, McMaster University.

As a Co-Principal Investigator, I am responsible for overseeing the project, and working with the POMHPY team to continuously improve the program. I am excited to be involved in this project and feel privileged to work with such an outstanding team. I am interested in understanding the socio-cultural determinants of mental health in youth. I enjoy catching up with K-dramas on Netflix and playing piano in my free time.

Dr. Elnaz Moghimi, PhD
Co-Principal Investigator

I am a Research Scientist at the Waypoint Research Institute, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at Queen's University. I have a PhD in Kinesiology and Health Science and two graduate diplomas in Quantitative Methods and Neuroscience from York University. Before joining Waypoint, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Queen's University, focusing on digital mental health interventions.

As a Co-Principal Investigator, I am responsible for giving direction to the project, overseeing engagement, and working with the POMHPY team to scale this program to Canadian youth. I am especially interested in gathering feedback from young people to identify ways to improve the program and better meet their needs. Outside of work, I love cooking and participating in fitness activities.
